Post The Second

I wonder how long this thing is going to actually last. It just seems to be a place where I'll throw a few random thoughts around now and then. Ah well, I'm sure it'll last as long as it wants to, or more accurately, as long as I want it to. It'll be interesting to find out precisely how long that is though....

Well, my accommodation stuff got to Manchester today, so all being well I'll be moving into my Halls sometime around mid-September for all the fun and games of Freshers Week before and I'm already hearing rumours that we'll be having a maths test in the first week, so looks like I'm going to have look over all the C1-C4 stuff again before I go. Well at least C3 and C4 anyway, I'm going to assume that C1 and C2 are indelibly imprinted on my brain forever - but C3 has nasty stuff like trig and functions and such and C4 has lots of lovely integration, but also lots of nasty vectors stuff as well, which does make life a bit less fun. I'm not touching a maths book until the start of September at the very earliest anyway.

My 'minion' who I tutored for a few weeks this year woke me up this morning with a phonecall. While I wasn't too keen on being woken up, I was pleased to hear she'd done well in her GCSEs, was nice to know that I helped at least a bit with that and maybe I don't suck at teaching physics quite as much as I thought I did at the time lol.

In other news, I really need to go to a few gigs soon. I've not been to any for ages. Hmm we'll have to see who's at the Sugarmill soon. Or just wait for gigs at Manchester. Or maybe just do both. Who knows...

So...

A new blog, it seems. I don't really know why I'm doing this and who, if anyone, will bother to read it - but if you do, then hello :)

Well, thus far summer's been quite interesting really. Ventured off to Greece for a fortnight in July to go to a wedding of someone I barely know, with at least 20 or so people I've never met. The only people I knew pre-holoday was Liam and his parents. Anyway, the randomness aside, it was very fun. Riding a bucking bronco while semi drunk is neither big nor clever, and is even less big and clever if you fall off at a dodgy angle as my elbow generously reminded me the following day.

Anyway, I've been back from there for nearly a month now and not a great deal has happened. I got my A-level results on the 16th August and they were pretty good. I got an A in Maths, but already knew that from last year anyway but perhaps a bigger surprise was the A in physics, thanks to doing hugely better in module 6 than I thought I would - the other results were B in Further Maths, C in Philosophy, B in AS English and D in AS Critical Thinking. The fact that I even passed Critical Thinking was a huge surprise given how little I wrote in the exam that really made any sense at all.

So anyway, I got the grades to go to Manchester Uni to do Physics ... so I'm happy, especially because there's already a massive pub crawl arranged for the first week of term. Fun times to be had there I reckon :D

Anyway, I don't really know what else I want to say other than yay I got into manchester, Greece was fun, and welcome to my blog.
